Ali was an elderly baker living in a small town. Every morning, the streets would fill with the wonderful smell of fresh bread from his bakery. The townspeople loved his bread, but more importantly, they loved his kindness.
One day, Ali noticed a little boy who passed by his bakery every morning. The boy wore old, worn-out clothes and would stand in front of the bakery window, staring at the warm bread inside. But he never came in—he just took in the scent and walked away.
One morning, Ali called out to him:
— My little friend, why do you stop by every morning just to look at the bread?
The boy lowered his head and whispered:
— It smells so good, but I don’t have any money.
Ali smiled, went inside, and came back with a fresh loaf of bread.
— You know, some bread is paid for with love. Today, this one is on me.
The boy’s eyes lit up as he held the bread tightly in his hands. He thanked Ali and ran off. From that day on, every morning as he passed by, he never forgot to smile at Ali.
Years passed, and Ali grew old. He had to close his bakery. One day, there was a knock at his door. A young man stood there, holding a warm loaf of bread.
— When I was a child, you once gave me a loaf of bread with love. Now, it’s my turn.
Sometimes, a small act of kindness returns years later as a great blessing. Maybe today is your turn to make someone’s day a little brighter…
Who will you choose to help today?
